Having found a site where a group has knowledge of something I'm working on, I was hoping that it might be possible to glean some data which I'm missing.
Let me reiterate.
My project is called EAST.MOG and is one of a series I have produced for the OS, this one covering Eastern Counties Omnibus, Eastern National Omnibus, United Counties Omnibus Co, Lincolnshire Road Car Co.. It lists all the garages and outstations of these and other major operators in the area, from earliest days up to the present. I have worked at the first 3 above, but my data on LRCC is somewhat sketchy, so I'm casting around for a source of info, with little success as yet.
I am particularly interested in the early days of Lincolnshire Road Car Co., and the activities of United Automobile Services, Enterprise & Silver Dawn (2 companies), Underwood etc in the area. No-one seems to have any fleet histories or the like. Can anyone help at all please?

I can't help specifically with Lincolnshire except to say that Philip Battersby of the United Enthusiasts Club produced a CD of a lot of official information about the bits of UAS that passed to LRCC which certainly had some detail about depots.
You probably know that Bernard Simpson of the Eastern Transport Collection Society is the world expert on Eastern Counties outstations and garages.
A lot of official information is to be found in the Eastern National archives at the Essex Record Office. I have personally carried out research in to the history of the Eastern National (ex Hicks Bros and ex The Horn) garages at Braintree.
I have found that voters lists are helpful when establishing dates as people would be accorded a vote in a district on the basis that they occupied a bus depot there even if they lived elsewhere. Early planning applications are now appearing in Record Offices and can be extremely useful - slightly off topic but I found the application (with beautiful hand coloured plans) for the house built in 1937 for my parents marriage.
